Environmental Waste Controls plc (EWC) is a UK base company, who provide waste management and recycling solutions for all types of industry. The company was founded in 1993 by Bill Edwards in 1993, who first started the business in his room. The idea was to provide an entire, affordable and transparent disposal and recycling services.
In the initial six months of the development of this business EWC conducted extensive market research and product testing through a variety of pilot projects in partnership with local NHS Trusts. After the success of these initiatives, the supply chain for the product as well as the marketing strategy and overall design of the business were established.
Since 1993, EWC has helped more than 500 local organizations as well as many local authorities with household waste and recycling facilities with a substantial savings on their waste budgets, by increasing recycling while reducing the fixed costs for waste separation, storage transportation and the disposal of landfill waste.
